ChargeHub connector for Claude
Look up EV charging stations across North America while you chat — where they are, what they plug into, how fast they charge, what they cost, and whether the ports are free right now.
Every station comes with a link to its page on chargehub.com, so you can open the map, photos, and user reports yourself.
Before you start
There is nothing to set up. No ChargeHub account to create, no sign-in step, and no API key to paste — the connector never asks you for credentials.
Connecting
Add it as a remote connector using this URL:
https://mcp.chargehub.com/mcp
In Claude, go to Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector, paste the URL, and save. In
Claude Code, run claude mcp add --transport http chargehub https://mcp.chargehub.com/mcp.
What you can ask
Just describe what you want in plain language — Claude picks the right lookup and runs it for you:
- "Find fast chargers within a few kilometres of 100 Queen St W, Toronto."
- "I drive a CCS car — any chargers over 150 kW near exit 25 on the 401?"
- "Which hotels near Mont-Tremblant have charging on site?"
- "Is the charger at this address available right now, and what does it cost?"
- "Show me free chargers with 24/7 public access in downtown Montreal."
- "I'm driving from Ottawa to Quebec City — where should I stop to charge?"
- "Which charging networks do you cover, and which ones are near me?"
You can ask in English or French.
What you get back
For each station: name and street address, the network that operates it, connector types, charging level and power in kW, port-by-port availability, pricing, access hours and instructions, nearby amenities, how far it is from the point you asked about, and a link to its page on chargehub.com.
Claude can also pull up the list of charging networks ChargeHub covers, with their logos — useful when you want results limited to the networks your card or app already works with.
You can narrow results by charging network, connector type, charging level, minimum power, free charging, 24/7 public access, hotels and lodging, nearby amenities, ChargeHub Passport support, and whether to include stations still under construction. Asking for lodging and for specific amenities at the same time is the one combination that does not work — ask for one or the other.
Good to know
- Coverage is North America. Searching elsewhere returns little or nothing.
- Each lookup covers an area around a single point, not a whole city or an entire route. For a long drive, ask about a few specific stops rather than the whole trip at once.
- A broad search returns a capped number of stations, and the cap is applied before the nearest ones are picked out — so if a result looks like it is missing something obvious, ask again around a tighter point.
- Availability and pricing come from the charging networks and can lag reality or change without notice.
- Treat the results as a guide, not a guarantee. Check the ChargeHub app or the station's page before relying on a specific port being free, working, or priced as shown.
What it cannot do
- Change anything. It only looks things up — no reservations, no starting or stopping a charge, no edits to station data, no reviews or check-ins.
- Take a payment or move money.
- Plan a route. It answers "what is near this point", one point at a time. Claude can search several points along a trip, but the connector has no routing engine of its own.
- See your ChargeHub app account. It has no access to user accounts.
Your privacy
- The connector is read-only, so Claude can run these lookups without asking you to confirm each one.
- Only the lookup goes to ChargeHub: the place or station you are asking about, the filters, and the language. Note that if you ask for chargers "near my house", the coordinates for that address are part of the lookup.
- Your conversation is not sent — no prompts, no responses, no files or attachments, and no access to Claude's memory or chat history.
- No account or profile is created for you, and the connector stores no user data.
Support
- Questions, problems with the connector, or a station whose details look wrong: chargehub.com/en/contact-us.html
- Help centre: chargehub.com/en/help-center
- FAQ: chargehub.com/en/chargehub-faq.html
Station data is maintained by ChargeHub and its community — reporting a correction fixes it for everyone.
